Some NVMe disks must be unlocked before running User Data Erase command. To unlock the disk the computer should be sent to Sleep mode and then resumed again.
The same unlock operation (Sleep/Resume) is performed to unlock HDD/SSD disks to run Secure Erase. But for User Data Erase it is not performed automatically because usually it is not required.

If you encounter this problem, it is recommended to unlock the disk manually before running the command.
To send the computer to Sleep mode, please do as follows:

1. Press Alt+Fn+F2 to switch console.

2. Type
>echo -n mem > /sys/power/state

3. Wake up with keyboard/mouse.

After that, the command User Data Erase should be completed successfully.
