There is a special software BCWipe Total WipeOut for Mac.
The BCWipe Total WipeOut USB Configuration Wizard can be run on macOS. Using the USB created with the Wizard, it is possible to boot and wipe any Mac models: Intel-based or ARM M1/M2.
BCWipe TWO Enterprise Server version can manage Mac machines - the Management Console allows to wipe Mac in online mode and also to download Mac version of the Wizard for USB creating and offline wiping.

To erase a legacy Apple device that is not on the list above, create the BCWipe TWO bootable USB using Windows version of the Wizard.
