When BCWipe launches a wiping task created in Task Manager, the process is running from SYSTEM account, so it does not matter what user is currently logged in.
Users' permissions are not related to the wiping process.
The only point where user's account is concerned is "Wipe User Activity" and "Wipe History" tasks:
these tasks wipe the history of the task's creator.
When a wiping task was started manually from right-click menu, BCWipe inherits Windows users' permissions.
So administrator rights are required to wipe files and file slacks from system directories like Windows, Program Files, etc.
Administrator rights are required to:
- wipe free space on a system drive;
- wipe files and file slacks from system directories like Windows, Program Files, etc.
- disable System Protection;
- use advanced sector-level verification;
- enable the options "Wipe directory slacks", "wipe MFT records" (for selected file/folder) and "wipe NTFS log file".
