Command Line: how to wipe with custom scheme.

Modified on Thu, 2 Nov, 2017 at 12:03 PM

BCwipe Command Line options include -PF and -PS parameters. PF means 'read the wiping scheme from a file', PS means 'use pre-defined wiping scheme name'.

Thus, before using these parameters, one should either export the desired scheme to a file, or save it with a specific name.

This is the instruction on how to do that:

- Open 'Wipe free space' dialog from right-click menu of a disk.

- Select the desired scheme in 'Scheme' drop-down list.

- Open Wiping Scheme Editor by clicking 'Edit/View Scheme'

Next, there are two options:

1) For 'PS' parameter:

- Click 'Create copy' and type a new name for the scheme. For example, 'dod3':

Now, you can use the flag '-PSdod3'  in your command line.

2) For 'PF' parameter:

- Click 'Export' and save the scheme as a file. For example, 'C:\schemes\dod3.txt'.

Now, you can use the flag '-PF C:\schemes\dod3.txt'  in your command line.

It is also possible to create a new scheme by clicking 'New'' . Then, again save the scheme with a name or extract it to a file.
