Modified on Thu, 16 Mar, 2023 at 7:44 AM

1. Install Gpg4win - only Kleopatra component:

2. Choose 'New Key Pair':

3. Type  a name and an email address and mark the checkbox 'Protect the generated key with a passphrase':

4. In Advanced Settings, choose RSA algorithm:

5. After the key pair has been generated - right-click on it and run two commands, one by one.

Save both files anywhere.

In this example, the files are saved in E:\temp folder and look like this:

6. Open BC Key Manager and run 'Add Existing Public Key' command from 'Key' menu. Point to the public key generated by Kleopatra.

The added key looks like this:

7. Open BCArchive and run the 'Create new archive' command. Choose 'Public key encryption', click 'Browse' and choose the key from the Key Manager database.

8. The archive will be created without asking for a password - add files to it.

9. When opening the archive - the secret key will be required. The user should point to the location where the secret key resides and enter the password that was entered when the key pair was generated. When opening next time - only the password will be required.
